Rest in peace Annie Nightingale

This visionary lady of music was the first female presenter to wear headphones behind the desk at BBC Radio 1, back in 1970.

Her ear for fresh new music was second to none and she helped to break the careers of thousands of artists & bands over her lifetime in music broadcasting.

Annie’s immediate family made a statement announcing that she passed away yesterday at her home in London after a short illness.
