LOVE TO JD TWITCH
When Keith McIvor – known to all of us as JD Twitch, co-founder of the legendary DJ duo Optimo (Espacio) revealed he’s been diagnosed with an untreatable and terminal brain tumour, the global music community was shaken. His health has declined rapidly over just a few weeks, impacting his speech, mobility, and independence.
Now, he needs 24-hour nursing care and support for therapies, transport, and palliative needs
A group of Belfast DJs – many of whom have played alongside Keith or drawn inspiration from his spirit, have launched a special benefit night in his honour.
Titled “Love To JD Twitch – From Belfast – For Keith”, it takes place on Saturday, 9 August 2025, at Lavery’s Belfast.
The event will run from 9 pm to 2 am and features DJs like Phil Kieran, Timmy Stewart, and Conor Schmtz. Proceeds will go 50/50 to a local Belfast food bank (in tribute to Keith’s charitable work with Glasgow’s foodbank) and The Brain Trust, echoing his legacy of giving and community care.
