    THE BLACK MADONNA  WILL DO ANYTHING TO MAKE A GIG!!

    Belfast favourite The Black Madonna reached new levels of cool recently with her sheer determination to get to Dekmentel's Lente Kabinet festival.

    When her flight from London to Amsterdam was cancelled, the party hungry DJ commissioned a private jet, saying the festival was a turning point in her life and , "it's a tremendous honour to come back no matter the expense".

    SPACE RETURNING TO IBIZA?

    The legendary club closed its doors for the final time last season with a marathon closing party and many claiming the island will never be the same. However, it has been confirmed that Space may not be finished with Ibiza and it may bring one of its biggest names back with it!

    Dates and line-ups have yet to be announced, however the venue is said to be Benimussa Park which has held parties from the likes of Zoo-Porject and Carl Cox.

    We will be waiting to see if this will be a weekly event or pop up style through out the season. One thing is for sure, Ibiza 2017 just got a bit more interesting!

    TRAGIC DEATH OF TREVINO

    The death of Drum & Bass legend Marcus Intalex aka Techno producer Trevino shocked the dance comunity this week. The circumstances  of his death have yet to be confirmed, but many DJs and Producers from around the world took to social media to pay tribute.

    Bodika wrote, "Truly heartbroken to find out about my old friend Marcus Intalex. Im utterly shocked.” DJ Zinc said, simply, “So sad”. Kaye was supposed to play Soul:ution party at The Pickle Factory in London last night, however out of respect the promoter cancelled.

    With an impressive and diverse discography including releases on labels such as Metalheadz, Exit Records, Soul:r, Aus Music and The Nothing Special he is a talent that will be sorely missed.

    Women’s Work Week

    It is Women's Work Week from the 21st - 29th of May and the OH YEAH CENTRE are treating everyone to a wide array of events showing off the talented women that are working in countless industries today.

    One event that Belfast Underground is particularly looking forward to is the talk with Mandy Parnell, the mastering dynamo who currently holds the MPG Mastering Engineer of the Year award (for the third time no less). Working alongside artists such as Bjork, The XX, Herbert, Frightened Rabbit, Sigur Ros and Brian Eno, Mandy has worked on many Grammy winning platinum, gold and silver records.
