Bicep debut album beckons

Local heroes Bicep have announced the release of their debut album, due for release on September 1st on Ninja Tune.

Anticipation for the self-titled long player has been building with the lead single ‘Aura’ whetting the appetite on dance floors around Europe. Like their wildly eclectic, fun-packed sets, the album will be a “mixed bag”, and bears the fruit of almost two years of studio work, completed amidst the usual flurry of gigs.

HIP HOP HALL OF FAME

Plans have been announced for the building of a Hip Hop Hall of Fame, scheduled to open in New York in 2018.

The non-profit organisation plan to construct a 20-storey building on Harlem’s 125th Street – home also to the legendary Apollo Theatre - that will include a museum, café, concert space, gift shop, and eventually a five-star hotel and sports bar.

The target amount sought to raise is $150m, and contributors are invited to donate via the Hip Hop Hall of Fame’s website.

Who would you put into the Hip Hop Hall of Fame? Who should be left out?
