This Saturday – 26th Aug @ Belfast Underground

SO the record racks are well and truly stuffed ahead of tomorrow’s onslaught. I’ve added well over 300 House & Techno this week, over 100 trance / hard dance and 70+ Funk, Soul, Disco. All this alongside some lovely downtempo stuff and rock albums.

AND AND AND

The complimentary Underground refreshment shelf biscuit of choice this week is the incredible…

KitKat.

What more can you say about these glorious chocolate covered wafer fingers that hasn’t already been preached over kitchen tables across the land for decades.

These absolute weapons are the definition of an oldskool snack. Forget about all the arsey flavoured derivatives on the shelves, head straight for the classics every time.

When life gets tough you can rely on these, along with a good brew, to add a little bit of comfort and familiarity back into your life.

Winner.

Open from 12-5 tomorrow

Techno returns to Belfast in style.

We are delighted to see that those lovely chaps at Coda_Belfast are gearing up for another night of fat ass loops that feature in some of the finest, proper techno known to man (and woman)

This time around they’ve drafted in the services of Italy’s brilliant Alarico, founder of Katana Records and artist for stacks of other top quality labels.

Belfast needs this night badly and I think that all proper techno enthusiasts should support these guys by popping down and jumping around for a while.

Bedrock Belfast at Shine sells out months ahead of event!

Legendary Belfast clubbing institution Shine have been announcing a steady flow of forthcoming events as we slowly begin to creep back to normality again after our various lockdowns.

Bedrock, the brainchild of superstar DJ and technical master John Digweed is coming to Belfast on 19th November, and Shine have sold out their entire quota of tickets in days, and literally 5 months ahead of the event.

Maybe there is such a yearning inside our nations youth to get back into society and spread their rave wings once again after being couped up for so long? or maybe the sheer might and power that Bedrock and indeed Mr Digweed still hold in our scene is incredibly strong? Who knows what the driving force is - I just know that it’s such a heart warming thing to read one again for the local entertainment industry.

Embezzlement Society To Launch Record Label.

One of our favourite local music producers and regular Belfast Underground DJ Embezzlement Society launches his new label on 25th January at Belfast's rapidly growing night Korova.

After going through a pretty tough year personally, Steven has pushed through, got his head down and focused on his family and the music he loves so much, the results of this hard work will be there for all to see very soon via his label 2Walk Records.

We would like to wish Steven all the very best for the future with the label, we shall be expecting some pretty major things.

Big shouts go out to Adam & The Crew at Korova for giving this guy the platform he so deserves.

Full details of the launch event can be found via the Korova Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/events/2529308950724111

Cybernalia are Arkis Elwood (41) and Bryan Corr (39) from Bangor, Northern Ireland .

Both Arkis and Bryan have been involved in the Northern Irish dance scene for over 25 years ,DJing in most of the province's club since the early 1990's.

The duo began producing their own music in 2010 which ranges from house/progressive/techno through to indie. They made their production debut in 2011 on Baroque records with their first ep 'Pictures / Blind faith'. Since then they have gone on to release over 100 original tracks and remixes on labels such as stellar fountain , suffused music , sounds of juan , Baroque and the mainstay of their material with the renowned Stripped Muzik Management brand where in 2018 stripped recordings released Cybernalia's first full 16 track studio album 'Little Heroes' which went top 10 across many genres on all major platforms. Earlier this year Cybernalia independently released their latest album , a massive 50 track offering 'poisoned April' containing a full spectrum of their musical genres from chillout through to techno which can be obtained through their soundcloud page www.soundcloud.com/arkis

Lately the pair have been focusing on creating their own local events under the mantle of 'Cybernalia Presents' , concentrating in their hometown of bangor with very succesful nights in 'the rabbit rooms' and a continual booking of dates currently with 'the Hop House' . They base their events on an intimate style club night focusing on a music policy of house & techno and have recently added northern Ireland legend Phil Sloan and young local talent dj Reece Rodgers to the team as interest from a dedicated following increases as each event takes place.
