Check out Liam Gallagher’s new single with John Squire
Some might say it’s a match made in indie rock heaven - we tend to agree.
Ex Stone Roses guitarist John Squire has joined forces with Liam Gallagher on this killer cut.
After working together remotely laying down the bare bones of the track, the two bonafide legends spent three weeks in Los Angeles working with producer Greg Kurstin, who also produces The Foo Fighters amongst others.
The results are exactly what you’d expect from these guys, with Squire’s trademark guitar sounds cutting through and Gallagher’s vocals soaring to his usual heights.

Armin Van Buuren is without doubt the biggest name in the world of trance music.
Along with his Armada stable of record labels and the A State Of Trance brand / radio show, they have built a worldwide legion of followers which is unrivalled in the genre.
Every year Armin and his A State Of Trance team ask the public to vote for their favourite trance tracks of the year.

The 2023 Tune Of The Year Special / Top 50 was one of the best yet for producers from Northern / Southern Ireland.
"Kiss The Night" from Murzo was the first trance release from Derry / Londonderry producer Ciaran Murray. It landed at a very respectable NO 23 in the annual rundown.
Murray who had previously released the more melodic sides of techno, made the journey to Amsterdam at the request of Van Buuren and his team for a live interview which peaked with the main man asking him to return in 2024 for a guest mix on his show.
"You Take My Breath Away" from County Armagh trance supremo Sneijder, featuring the vocals of Cari -came in at NO 35 in the ASOT Tune Of The Year / Top 50
The track, which is a reworking of the 2000 classic from SuReal was released on DJ Tiesto's label Black Hole Recordings
Andrew (Sneijder) made an appearance via video from his studio to thank his fans for voting.
Ciaran McAuley's massive collaboration with trance icon Paul Van Dyk - "Someone Like You" came in at NO 20
The track which was released in July 2023 on Van Dyk's very own label VANDIT Records features the German legend's signature euphoric style alongside the incredible production of McAuley. This is a match made in trance heaven.
ALSO..McAuley's remix of Aly & Fila ft Emma Hewitt - "You & I" was voted NO 12 in this years top 50.
Bryan Kearney featured twice in this year's Tune Of The Year / top 50 with his tracks "Encanta"NO 15 and "Shine A Light" his track with singer / songwriter Bo Bruce commanding a brilliant place at NO 3
These two high placings further cementing Kearney's place at the very top of the Irish, and worldwide trance scene.
Paul Webster's superb remix of Ben Gold's - "Rest Of Our Lives" came in at a whopping NO 2 in this brilliant rundown.
The track which was released on the Captivating / Armada label in July received massive international acclaim.

Was this Smiths song secretly written about Jimmy Savile?
In a video this week, popular musician /singer / songwriter James Hargreaves speaks in depth about the long standing debate over the song lyrics of The Smiths 1986 smash hit "Panic" (Hang The DJ)
Was this song written about the horrific acts of notorious media personality & DJ, Jimmy Savile?
The question was raised by a subscriber of Hargreaves YouTube channel, which now has over 46,000 subscribers and features a lot of very interesting questions about popular music culture. The channel also features some of Hargreaves own excellent music productions.
It is very well documented that Morrissey had strong feelings over various press conspiracies, none more so than the BBC, who Savile worked with for so long.
The Smiths performed live at Eurotube 1986 where they brought a child on stage to solely sing the “Hang the DJ” lyrics. Many Smiths fans believe this gesture further proves exactly what Morrissey meant.
For me, part of the Morrissey / Marr songwriting genius is it's mystique and the fact that so much remains untold and is left to be dissected using your own assumptions and beliefs.
This articulately worded video from James Hargreaves sheds light on many of the questions surrounding this period in time and is well worth a watch for anyone who follows the world of songwriting.
We are gutted to hear that Amp Fiddler has sadly passed away. The absolute definition of Detroit music royalty in our books and a massive influence on musicians from many musical persuasions and from all around the world.
Words below directly from Joseph's official Facebook page.
"We face the insurmountable responsibility of sharing the passing of Joseph “Amp” Fiddler.
Our beloved “Amp” Fiddler, Detroit’s own world renowned ambassador of funk, soul, &
electronic music, keyboardist, producer, Afro-futurist, and guiding force of light for so many, has transitioned at the age of 65. After an extensive and noble battle with cancer, he now gracefully rests in peace and power"

Zero 7 In The Waiting Line hits 100 Million streams
One of our favourite downtempo / Balearic acts Zero 7 have hit the 100 Million streams mark on Spotify with the beautiful “In The Waiting Line” featuring the sultry tones of Sophie Barker.
The guys announced the news on their Facebook page and received a barrage of positive, supportive comments from their legion of fans.
DAY 7 OF 50 REVIEWS ON THE LEAD UP TO A RECORD STORE OWNER'S 50TH BIRTHDAY in 2021
Day 7 in my 50 favourite albums is a stunning Balearic masterpiece.
I absolutely adore this album and how it pretty much created it’s own genre.
“Simple Things” has been a permanent feature on whatever turntable, CD player, car stereo or headphones I’ve owned for many years.
This beautiful collection of inoffensive, coffee shop trip hop was first released 22 years ago. The two Brits in front of the studio mixing desk, Henry Binns and Sam Hardaker have had their music compared to the French electronica style of bands like Air. I can totally appreciate there may be influences, but in the same breath i believe they’re on a much different page.
It still shocks me when i learn that friends haven’t had the pleasure of Zero 7 and I love to introduce people to their music.
If for some reason they have passed you by and you appreciate soulful downtempo music for sunny afternoons, I urge you to spend an hour or two bingeing their albums, I guarantee you will spot instrumental music that you’ve heard somewhere before but just can’t put your finger on where. Probably a tv travel show or midday property programme.
When you listen to and dissect the songs you will appreciate how many subtle parts go into the making of this album.
Some of the vocals and harmonies are just beautiful and feature two stunning performances from a young Sia, on the tracks "Destiny" and "Distractions"
Everything within this collection of soulful songs happens at exactly the right time and you grow a deeper understanding of their production skills with every listen.
