The duo of Ian Dunlop and Christopher Begley are at the forefront of Techno music in Northern Ireland, having shared the same music tastes for quite some time and sharing their love for the electronic dance scene the pair got together and Vlokken was born.
After firmly slotting themselves into the Techno community as the Dj duo Vlokken the future is looking very bright for the Irish duo.
Having hit the ground running in 2015 the pair seen their Rich Slave EP being snapped up by Arjun Vagale for his label Maktub Music and receiving huge support from a range leading artists. Having spent a lot of time in the studio perfecting their unique sound it is clean to see that they have their fingers firmly on the pulse.
When performing, Vlokken customize their sets consisting of Traktor, loops and fx, and also implementing their own live edits.
What sets them apart is their unique approach when they are in the DJ booth controlling the music and navigating the crowd, they don’t just take you from A to B but to C taking everyone on a musical journey.
A bold move and step forward for the Irish duo which will see them take their career to the next level, with mixing their deep and dubby other times bright and warm style from old school vibes mixed with new sound horizons, is a unique personal style.
This progress in the realms of dance music also inspired the fellows to advance and develop their own productions, Always trying to create a balanced but surprising mix within House and Techno.
Vlokken and their deep and dark atmospheres create the ambiance for a more intricate mood, where complex sound landscapes grab the listeners attention, bringing the club experience to another dimension.
With musical influences ranging from the likes of Daft Punk, Kerri Chandler, Cashmere and Alan Blex, Deetron, M.A.N.D.Y, Booka Shade, it’s easy to see where the raw emotion, tension and energy prevalent in their music stems from.
The pair have went on to have some great artists remix their tracks such as Shosho, Maverickz, Da Fresh, Marcus Sur, Clawz SG, Mr.Bizz, D-Deck, Eric Sneo to name a few.
The pair seen their track “Anti matter” reach No.2 in in the Traxsource Top 100 Techno chart, they later went on to see it be charted No.46 in the top 200 Techno tracks of 2015.
